Post subject: modified to stock discussion

This should make for some interesting discussion. Say you were looking for a bone stock car, how many of you would buy one that was modified then returned to stock? And car for car would you pay the same amount for one with simliar mileage, that truly is 100% original? (never modified) _________________ *Vince*

I wouldn't as I don't trust anybody to work on my car other than myself. One of the requirements I had when looking for my Supra was it had to be completely stock meaning no performance mods or appearance mods of any kind. I came across some who were trying to pass the car off as stock and there are signs of modding that they were trying to hide. I know the car was probably raced and abused a little bit but I would like to think not nearly as much as if I bought it from someone who had been modding it.
I would also pay a little more for a stock car with same mileage and condition than I would for a modified car. As soon as you start wrenching on a car I feel it loses value. _________________ 94 Freak TT |

I am keeping all the stock parts off of my cars so if I ever sell my car I can return it to stock. I will do this because you will never receive as much money for the aftermarket pieces when you sell the car so I would take everything off and try to get some of my money back through selling the parts individually.
I however would NEVER touch a car that has been modified in any way. I think that building a car from stock is part of the fun of owning the car. This way you know exactly what is done to the car and you get to do it the way YOU want. _________________ -Ryan L.
